"We would love to be creative with you!"
As photographers we have our own dream photos, and not even for ourselves, but for our clients. Some are realized immediately, some sit on the shelf waiting for the right moment--the right couple.
Camille and Jack were the right couple.
I have no idea where my dream of photographing a couple baking in the kitchen together comes from, but I knew the moment I heard that Jack and Camille were expecting their first baby that this was the perfect session for them. It was even more of a dream that the moment I messaged Camille with the idea, it was met with an immediate response of,
"This is the CUTEST idea I've ever heard. We would love to be creative with you!"
A few days later there they were, baking in the kitchen together, throwing flour everywhere, dancing, laughing. Celebrating the most exciting news of their life. Camille was baking a sourdough loaf when I messaged her, how sweet that we were able to capture moments so uniquely her.
By the end the was flour on every surface, but they couldn't care less.
There are few things I love more than a couple ready to make a mess, enjoy the process, and be fully in it. Camille and Jack were all of those things and now they have the photos of it to cherish forever.
The best part of the story? The warm load of sourdough bread that came home with me in the end :)
